Front Mud Flaps

Wow I had no idea they were shaped differently than sport flares. Learn something new everyday lol.

I had no idea either until I suggested the same mod to someone with them and then they told me how they didn't fit. Took a little back and forth to figure out why.

Hi all, I've been using the site for info and input since before purchasing my 98 in March, but I've only posted a couple of times. I'm a product designer and have the know-how to reproduce these driver's side flaps using a passenger's side as a model. But, of course, that will cost some money and so I need to gather people who want these to help pool funds to create the part files, tool, and production.

I want to start a new thread about it to gauge interest and post updates but I'm probably 12 posts shy of the minimum to do so still. So ANYWAY, this post helps, but please comment back if you want one of these driver's side flaps that flush up with the skinny 3rd Gen SR5 flares. I've pulled a set of the flares from a salvage yard and reaaally want to put them on, but won't until I can find both flaps to match!

Sorry for making a duplicate post, but it's all to the good!

I would think you need to make a set in order to get people interested.

I'd be be in on those, too ... but can I suggest maybe two versions (as long as you're thinking of running a product line). The first would match the factory "rigid" mud flaps, and the second could just extend the faring a bit and allow anyone with a modded crawler to go without flaps or just add flexible ones.

Just wanted to let you guys know that I do have Japan specific flaps for 96-02 4Runner. They're pricy, but very cool.
