Hey all...
Thought I'd share a fairly good experience I had at a Stealership last week!
I've got an '01 SR5 with a little over 116k on it. The brake pedal has been feeling a little low lately so I assumed, with the mileage, I'd have the pads checked out. I had a coupon in the mail for an $85 job for front pads so I took that and the Runner to the stealer. I told them no turning the rotors, no griding, no bleeding, just pads!
After about half an hour, the service nerd comes over to me and says "Well the tech checked everything out and although I'd love to charge you the $85 for front pads, you still have 9/32" left on them. No need for pads, they are fine. We can't believe it!" (I wasn't the only one shocked I guess)
These are the ORIGINAL PADS on the front. 116k! When it comes time to have the brakes done I will go back to Toyota, at least for the parts! Money's worth? I think so! :beer:
