I've never seen one, but have not really looked.

Oh, that makes sense. I've seen a lot of winches just bolted on the bumper I guess.

no one makes one. it would have to be adapted. i looked into this years ago before i got a bumper on my old 4runner

I would seriously consider getting one, IF the hitch were mounted high enough to keep maximum ground clearance.
Why not get the ideal bumper that you want, and have a 2" receiver welded onto it? It would need bracing to be strong enough, but could be done.

The problem with receiver mounted winches it the winch usually will outpull the weight that the hitch is rated to.
I wouldn't want to trust pulling mine out of a hairy predicament relying solely on a 5/8" hitch pin to keep everything together.
Pulling at an angle just makes it worse as hitch ratings are linear.

well i beg to differ, as i have had both of my trucks pulled off the ground and being tethered by that 5/8" hitch pin... multiple times, and in some cases using a snatch block and still having the winch stall out, so thats what 19k lbs and still no 5/8 pin snapping or deforming...
one should never intentionally pull from an angle regardless of anchors, but i understand that this is not a perfect world. and yes several of my pulls have been off set or side loaded as well, but that would never affect the pin, that would come in more to the tongue of the receiver, and those are usually more than strong enough.

Yeah, I see the welds as a weak point, not the 5/8" pin.

They exist as they were manufactured by one of the hitch companies, for how long I do not know. Are not currently manufactured, according to all the searching I have done.

comparing my bumper mounts (bumper is off) and hitch I assume this would require a combination of welding and bolting? are you trying for a bolt on style that requires no cutting or welding? My 99 Ltd seems to have an unusual bumper (fat lip?) making it the odd man out re bolt on front hitches. If minor mods were required I'd be up for it.

didn't think it was your guy. thought you'd be interested. it is exactly what the OP was asking about and it is a different design + installation than I've seen in other front hitches. It is more compact, seems to not intrude into any clearance or component space. It's slick.
Gonna contact him (Dan) this week to inquire: if he has CAD he's willing to share, if he's willing to produce a kit with all the pieces in unwelded kit for, and if he's wiling to make one for me. [MENTION=111797]JohnJMonroe[/MENTION] 4R looks to be a 99 LTD, which is what I have, so there wouldn't be any 'fat bumper' fit issues.
