Front seat memory settings on Trail Premium?

Has anyone figured out if it's possible to modify the Trail Premium or SR5 Premium to have memory settings for the front seats?

With all the possible adjustments on the driver's seat and multiple drivers in the household it would be nice to have.

To my knowledge no one has done it. I have seen a couple threads discussing it but nothing ever tested. IIRC the things believed to be needed would be a new armrest in the door that has the hole for the memory seat switches (may be able to modify exsisting to work), the switches and then there is a seat control computer. I dont think anyone ever verified the wiring is there etc but I could be wrong. If you try it or find out more please post the results. While not a priority this is something I have thought about aswell.

Bump..

I'm interested in doing this upgrade if it's possible. Thinking of getting parts from the junk yard. Anybody done this yet.

Have anyone made this work?

Every time my wife drives our truck, I end up having to adjust the seat before I even get it.... its like she hugs the airbag like a pillow.

I can't believe this thread has been around this long without a bunch of useless comments about how seat memory is for weak people who don't deserve to drive a 4runner. You should be happy to have adjustable seats at all.. back in my day we had to unbolt the seats and weld in new attachment points every time the wife wanted to drive..

But Yeah, I'd be curious about this as well, if it was an easy mod. It probably requires a whole wire harness and a different body control module and an act of congress....

I had that on my LE and then realized I was always adjusting my seat position based on clothing, temp etc. I’ve realized that “premium feature” is not worth it to me. Anyhooooo

I have a 2004 GMC pickup with automatic memory seats and dual climate control. It feels weird to get in my 2016 4runner and have neither.

I came from a fully loaded Infiniti and the 4runner feels like I'm driving a classic car. I will say that I've had memory seats and power tilt/telescope steering column that lifted on exit. I actually disabled those features and rarely used the memory seats in that and my car prior to that. It would have been nice if they offered a TRD Off Road premium model which included things like push button start, dual zone climate control and JBL like the Tacoma does.
