Front Seat!!

Good morning...I have finally taken the time to join this forum after benefitting from it for the past couple of years. My wife's 1996 Toyota 4Runner Limited with 285k miles has been a real Blessing over the years. We have had to do some work on it, but it has always been easy to work on and has kept going and going for over 16 years now. We will be upgrading toa new 4Runner in the next year or two, but will try to get this one to 350k first.

The only issue we have right now is the front driver's seat. The leather has served its course. The passenger and rear still look good, so I have a hard time investing $800+ for a re-upolstering job and we and we don't want to get cheesy covers for it. I am searching local junk yards now, but haven'thad any luck.

Any suggestions? 1996, Limited, 3.4LV6, Automatic Drivers Seat with Lumbar.

Thanks!

I used seats out of a Mazda 323 in my 96. Took the feets off the original seats, built frames that were an inch taller so I could see better over the hood. Attached new seats minus their feets to frames. Just went around the junkyard looking for things that were the right width and comfort in decent shape.
3rd gen 4Runners are near non-existent in the pick n pulls around here.

If the seat itself is in decent shape what about non-cheesy seat covers? Mine had a bar that poked into my lower back for starters.

Let me know what you find out, i have the same problem in my 3rd gen. But i have not looked down the road yet... but when i do, i will be sure to share!
