Front seats uncomfortable

If you don't like the 5th gen driver's seat, drive for a couple of hours in a 4th gen.

4runner seats are in about the bottom 25% of all of the vehicle's I've owned, but the 5th gen is nirvana compared to my 2007. I guess that's progress.

I was just about to post the same comment. The 5th gen seat for tall folks is a vast improvement over 4th gen.

I understand this is an old thread but figured I'd post here in case others have the same question. I came from an 05 limited with no complaints about the seat whatsoever. In fact I don't think I've ever had any complaints about any seat I've ever owned. Honda, Acura, Toyota, Plymouth, Nissan or Volkswagen. I started this search because I bought a low mileage 2012 4runner about 6 months ago and noticed on trips that last 25 minutes or more it feels like something is kinda pushing on my mid back. I was starting to wonder if I was just having spine issues and maybe a protrusion was sticking out into a firmer seat and maybe my back had grown along with my 05 with 230k on it. The more I pay attention to it though, it seems like it has to be something else but reaching back and feeling for it etc , I can't find any issues. My 05 seat was way better though, which leads me to believe certain seats have issues and it's not just a matter of test driving a rented vehicle for hours or asking the dealer if you can take it out for a 45 minute spin. I've come to expect that most seats are fine for me. Something is completely different about this one. I'm 5'11 180 lbs. The person who owned it before me may have been big though. My 2012 softec seats with 65k show much more wear than my 05 did. My 05 leather looked almost new until it developed the tear eventually around 210k at about 15 years old. Overall, other than the general outside appearance, I'm a bigger fan of the 4th gen so far. That's on me though. I knew from test driving a million 5th gens that none of them drove like my 05 but I had to give up on eventually finding a 4wd 4th gen without rust. In all fairness though, my 05 was a limited and I never test drove a 5th gen limited. That could be where the big differences Im feeling are.

Seat jackers made a world of difference for me. Just did 9 hours back from ME with no leg pain. And these seats used to hurt me ALL the time.
