Front spring replacement.

I have a damaged front driver side spring, and maybe some other hardware, that needs replacing.

I'm roughly stock height. Original springs all around, and an add-a-leaf in the rear to level it's sagging.

With the springs being 29 years old... I figure I need to replace both fronts to be level.

What's my best, lowest cost option? It's a DD that I sometimes haul bikes and sporting gear with. I don't go nor have desire to go wheeling. I'm having a hard time finding factory height springs.

The least lift I've found are OME stock/light load. Toyota Pick-Up '79-'85 & 4runner '84-'85 OME Suspension But I'm pretty sure these just mean stock load, not stock height.

The OME is definitely not stock height, it'll lift you at least a couple inches, and you're right, that's the lowest lift spring option I could find. You can still find stock height rear springs if you look hard enough, but I don't think there's any stock height front springs being made or sold any more. You could have a company like Alcan make you a custom spring pack, and if you've got the money that'd be a good option. Alcan makes good springs. Your other option is to scrounge up a couple other leaf packs and put together your own custom spring pack, mixing and matching leaves until you get the height and ride quality you want. It's a trial and error process, but you could start by trimming a leaf to match the broken one you're going to pull out, sticking it in there, and seeing what that does.

Or, you could lift the truck in self defense . But your rig is pretty enough that I think you're making the right call. Get some junkyard springs and do your best to leave it stock height.

there shouldnt be any shortage of stock springs out there.

You're right, they're all lift springs. 3" was the smallest they had. I too am looking for stock replacement leafs for my '85 Hi-Lux. Thanks for the link to Truckspring.com!

BTW, on a 79-85 there is a left and a right spring pack, they are not the same.

Cant find OEM height.

TruckSpring didn't really have stock. Was going to be a custom build with 6-8week lead time.

I think Im gonna offer her for sale. Might suit someone who wants a lift more than me.

With a little work you could get a set of 48" pickup or 4runner rear springs in there. Google Rears up front, tons of info out there on it.

Which part of the leaf pack is damaged? If the main leaf is ok, then you could just replace the broken leafs with junkyard springs out of another Toyota pack (or any leaf that works really). Throw a extra leaf or two in for some lift...
