Front turn signal bulb question..

So I have some clear turn signals and original bulbs are clear. I need to order some Amber turn signals but don't want the hyper-flash with amber LED's so I need a 7440 type bulb (25W) that's amber. No problem, found this:

The question: Are 7440 and 7440A the same bulb? I read online that A stands for Amber and it's the same exact bulb but others say there is a size difference and they won't fit... What say you!?

"A" indicates Amber.
You can get an electronic flasher relay on Amazon that you can set the flash rate to whatever you want. Search "3 pin relay" on Amazon. It has a small knob to adjust flash rate.

It's a direct replacement for our flasher relays.

Thanks for that, I went ahead and got that relay plus a pair of SYLVANIA ZEVO 7440 T20 Amber LED Bulbs, didn't want something too bright, hope it'll work OK.

Thanks again man! I just got done replacing the relay, clear turn signals and LED's and it's all working like it should, love the fact that I can now control the flash rate too!

I know- it's cool to be able to adjust it. Once you know where it is back there, you can just reach back there and adjust it anytime too.
The fact it clicks again- after you cancel the signal- annoys some people, but I got used to it. You can time it just right, and it won't click again too.

Yeah, after I remounted the fuse box and panel, I noticed it was clicking slower than I had set it initially, so I reached back there and sure enough the control knob was touching some thick wiring and probably got turned a bit during reinstall so I was able to turn it back to where it was and all good, love it! I also noticed that extra click you're referring to, not a big deal at all! The clicks seem to have quieted down some too so that's also nice... Overall, VERY happy with it, hope it holds up!
