Front windshield wipers weak?

Just replaced the front blades and it still wipes pretty weak and not clean at all--I've heard of people using these:

for their rear wiper but has anyone used them on the front wipers? I think the springs might be worn down over time and I don't see a viable way to get new OEM ones at a decent price online, so I'm hoping those helper springs might work. Has anyone seen this issue with their front wipers at all?

I have this issue with mine, but I think it's more the fault of my choice of blades. I REALLY prefer scrubblades, but since they have 2 blades, I think it's just more resistance than the fatory blades are designed for.

You've convinced me to finally order a set of this kind of spring though, I'll report back with my findings.

Same, ever since I switched to aftermarket wiper/blades is been as you described OP. I might go back to oem.....

might want to do a cleaning with a clay bar. it helps, then apply your water repellent, rain-x works fine for me. the clean glass and new wipers will work better.

rear wiper blade

Just bought a 2007 T4R and had to replace entire rear wiper arm assembly. OEM new parts installed. It works fine, but does not apply enough pressure to actually clean the window. Is this a design problem or spring problem? thanks

Yeah, again this is the case.

Go to the dealer and get the actual Japanese made replacement assemblies. Like $25 each but they last years and the inserts can be replaced.

They’ve got to be the Japanese ones!

The spring helpers the OP posted actually work great. I have one on my rear wiper.

I'm sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I don't have new post privileges yet.

In any case, I'm interested to know if wiper arms for the 4th gen are interchangeable with other models, Camrys and what have you because I'm having trouble finding replacements.

Repainting them as a final resort.
