Having to sell my 87 DLX due to a new living situation and lack of parking. Decided to post it on here before putting it on CL.
The truck is in great condition, especially for its age. Has a 22RE engine. Just about 165k original miles. Runs strong, starts up every time no problem. Can be a bit slow going up hills but thats any older toyota truck, just shift down and roll with it. Passes smog no problem. Body is in almost flawless condition, save for one very small dent in the tail gate. The interior is also good - the dash is not cracked (almost all dashes have a big crack running right down the middle), both headliners are in excellent condition, the back roof has never been taken off to my knowledge - the trim pieces are still on. It comes stock with manual windows which is one of the big reasons I wanted a DLX instead of a SR5 (the power windows are not reliable). That means however that it only comes with two small stock speakers - these have been replaced and two more added to the front doors. They are paired with a BT deck and it sounds surprisingly good. The rear window works via key from the tailgate and from the switch on the console (none of the other trucks I checked out when looking had a working console switch). Stock wheels have been upgraded with the SR5 wheels, painted black, and have newish Destination AT tires (75-85% tread left). The rear shackles have been replaced with trail gear extended shackles to help level out the back and get rid of the dreaded rear sag. Headlights have been replaced and brighter bulbs put in so they work better. Comes with original paperwork, manual, tool kit, etc.
The paint on the truck is original which is nice because you can tell that there hasn't been body damage and repainting. However, the Toyota silver for some of the older trucks is notoriously bad with age. In areas, the paint is in fairly rough shape - Some of the bad areas have been masked off and primed (should be able to see a couple in the photos). Having said that though, there is only a tiny bit of surface rust, even on the underbody. The A/C blows cold and I updated the refrigerant to R134 but there's a small leak somewhere (nothing major). There are some small rips in the upholstery on the driers side and behind the back seats but that's to be expected Lastly, the truck shifts smooth but has a tendency to pop out of first gear unless you hold it in. Doesn't happen with the other gears - I am told a tranny service should fix the problem.
I'll add anything else I can think of. I also have the auto check from when I bought it and will gladly share it. Just PM me.
