FS: 1990 2nd gen long travel 4runner, Now $4200! Grand Junction CO
I am selling my 1990 toyota 4runner with a total chaos torsion bar long travel front suspension. I have done quite a bit of work to this 4runner to make it a great trail vehicle as well as my daily commuter.
-22re engine, New timing chain at 170k.
-3" flare front fiberglass fenders.
-front fox 2.0 x 8" shocks.
-Custom front bumper with receiver for winch. The winch receiver mount is also available but doesn't include the winch.
-Custom rear bumper for maximum clearance, just recently finished and painted.
-Rock sliders made from 2" x 4" tube and welded to the frame in 4 places with gussets.
-Detroit Truetrac torsen limited slip differentials front and rear.
-4.88 axle gears.
-T100 CV shafts to retain 4wd plus a spare cv.
-locking hubs.
-rear OME 900 lift coils and rancho 10" travel shocks.
-Trail gear 4.7:1 gears in the transfer case.
-Custom bent 3/8" thick skid plate/transmission crossmember for 3" more clearance than stock (1/2" drivetrain lift).
-I rebuilt the transmission a year ago with all new bearings and synchros and put in a new clutch and rear main seal.
-2" wheel spacers on the rear.
-33x12.5R15 BFG mud terrains with about 50% tread remaining.
-rear wheelwells opened up 3/4" all around and rewelded. Any rust was cut out and fixed with new sheetmetal. The 33's stuff perfectly in the wheelwells.

This has been an ongoing project for me as well as my daily driver for the last few years and does great on the trails around Colorado and Moab, but I have purchased a newer 4runner so this one needs to go. The 4runner has 259k on it but still runs great and has been driven nearly every day to work. I am asking $4200 obo and am located in Grand Junction, Colorado. The easiest way to get ahold of me is to send an email to jerplantinga (at) hotmail (dot) com.
