FS: 1997 SR5 4x4 4WD T4R in Chicago; with HIDs and Tundra Brake Upgrade
I have a daily driver 1997 SR5 Toyota 4Runner in Chicago for sale. it has currently 145,xxx miles. I am the second owner. I am selling because I just got married and we need to get a "fuel economical" car because my wife also has a Toyota SUV and we are keeping hers since a happy wife = happy life. She doesn't think my BMW M3 is fuel economical...
The T4R has a working sunroof that tilts and slides without ANY leakage. The rear window also works well. The doors all open well and all the electronics still work in the truck. Most importantly, the antenna still works!
The A/C was also recently charged so it is really COLD.
Other things included is dashboard carpeting which means that the dash is as good as it was when new. No sunlight fade. I am also including all 4 Wet Okole Hawaiian Seat covers. These are the premium grade seat covers that all the other manufacturers "imitate". These are NOT the cheapie Costco, Cabela's, eBay, etc version. Hawaiian Seat Covers - Wet Okole Hawaii
I have all the work orders and repair history from the first owner. She took the 4runner to the dealer service department for ALL work, including oil changes.
I did my work myself because all it required was simple fluid changes. I switched to FULL Synthetic Castro as soon as I got the vehicle and have been running Full Syn since then.
Everything is STOCK EXCEPT I have upgraded it with the DDM HID kit that was recommended on these forums AND I did the Tundra Big Brake upgrade with Brembo Rotors and ceramic pads. The brakes make a big difference and I would recommend it to EVERYONE with a 3rd gen T4R. I bought Brembos because they are the best for daily usage and I felt that the upgrade was worth it over generic cheap rotors.
I also have the FJ Cruiser wheels on it and will update with pics of the FJ cruiser wheels tonight. I have 5 wheels with tires. I also have the STOCK wheels.
It has the TOW package and is wired for both types of common wiring connector. I currently have a REESE tow hook on it and I ONLY used it to tow a U-haul trailer for moving household items such as couches, bbq grills, etc. ONLY Light items.
I have also replaced it with a Kirkland CostCo battery last fall and it carries the full warranty on it.
The bad: someone banged into my newly replaced front bumper and cracked the license plate holder. It is NOT falling apart and you cannot tell without looking directly at it. The pic below is of the OLD bumper with a dent in it. There is no more dent because of the new bumper.
The rear hatch also sticks and opens MOST of the time. Some of the time, you will need to pull the handle several times before it opens.
There is one chip on the windshield that has been repaired by Safelite and carries the Safelite warranty on their work. the chip is tiny and you will not see it until I point it out.
I have 2 clickers for the remote keyless entry and it has the Toyota Alarm on it.
I am asking for $5600 for it. I have the title in hand and have no liens/loans on it. Please EMAIL me at [email protected] and I will send you my phone number. I am a big fan of texting so that would be a preferred form of communication. I am open to shipping the car and will work with you on that (as far as dropping it off at a shipping hub), but all additional costs are your own.
