Professional 3.4L/5VZ-FE engine swap done by Torfab . 5-sp manual transmission, Bilstein shocks, BFG KO tires, rear coil springs replace to get rid of the sag. Runs and drives beautifully. All windows, sunroof, heat and A/C work great. New Clutch at ~180k. I've owned this since 2000 when it had 68k on it and have most of the records on it. Never been wheeled and ready to continue on as a daily driver or build it up for some off road fun. The 3.4L engine is a huge improvement over the stock 3.0L and really what Toyota should have sold the 2nd generation 4Runners with in the first place (extra 50 HP.) It's a great truck and has served me well but it is time to move on. It's the last year of the drop down tailgate before they moved to the hatch so it is really easy to haul long items. Clear coat is pealing on the hood as is common for this vehicle. Nothing a little rattle can or Plasti Dip wouldn't take care of or pull the hood and have it resprayed at your favorite body shop. Donor engine had 175k and was almost fully rebuilt (no pistons, rings, or cylinders because it compression checked good) and has been driven about 17k since then. Body has about 225k . It was fully tested, gone over, seals, water pump etc replaced. Lots of life left in this rig. Marin Crawler rear bumper, Wet Okole seat covers front and rear (drivers cloth has typical wear under them) as well as a fully wired 7 pin connector and Tekonsha P2 brake controller.

My wife and I might be interested - I'm looking for either a 22re/5sp or 3.4/5sp 2nd gen T4R.

We are currently selling an FJ40 project and will be much more serious buyers once that happens...

A little north of you, but a quick question - is that a large dent in the driver rear quarter panel?

More of a wrinkle than a dent. It was hit on the left rear bumper while parked and it bent the original bumper and wrinkled the quarter panel a little. The body shop was going to have to cut it out and replace it so I left it and just replaced the bumper.

Hmm, k.... talking with another owner of a 5mt/swapped 3.4 2nd gen around here as well... but also still waiting to see what happens with the FJ40.

Our FJ40 should sell today and now we're getting serious. We are looking at yours and one other (though there are currently 4 with the 3.4 swap done for sale in the area) seriously.

Did the accident go through insurance? A body shop wanting to replace the quarter panel I would surmise from a financial standpoint would "total" the vehicle, but on craiglist I see the title is clean?
