FS: 3rd Gen 1997 SR5 4X4 Desert Dune - Orlando, FL - SOLD for $5600
Hi all – longtime lurker, first time poster. My wife and I recently had our first child and we needed to get a new SUV for the wife. So, I am parting with my beloved 1997 4Runner SR5 4X4 with 149K. This is a one owner car, I bought it new in March of 1997 and it has been basically a gas an go car for it’s entire life, no problems. The odometer reads just shy of 150K. It spent most of it’s life outside in Florida (only about 4 years in a garage). There is no rust on the truck. It has a massive JL audio stereo installed (500/1 amp, 500/4 amp, 2 10W3’s, and custom kick panels with 5.25s), and I can leave it in or part it out. I would prefer to sell it all together. Interior has been covered in 90% Dynamat as well. Optima redtop battery, class III hitch, roof rack, nerf bars, brush guard, Michelin tires are only 3 years old with lots of tread left, and K&N CAI. Front brake rotors are dimpled and slotted with HAWK pads.
The good: Body is about perfect, just some minor door dings and rock chips in hood; minimal for a truck this age. The interior is perfect, no stains or rips. Synthetic Mobil 1 has been run in the truck for most of it’s life. Water pump and timing belt changed at ~90K. Last summer I replaced the radiator, thermostat, radiator hoses, fan clutch, valve cover gaskets and cam shaft seals. Rear Axel Seals and Rear Springs were also replaced early in life under warranty.
The not so good. It has a Viper alarm that works intermittently, the sunroof opens but needs some assistance closing, I have not messed with it since last summer but it is water tight. When I had 12K miles on it the back got hit and the rear lift gate was replaced (about 3K in repairs) and have had no issues since then.
I was looking to get $7300 OBO for all of it. I am not desperate to sell it, (in fact I really don't wan to but we don't have the space) if I can’t get what I want for it I will just keep it.
