I'm reposting this as I guess I was missing some info in my original post yesterday and it got deleted. My bad.

So here are the details again. I recently purchased a 5th gen so I am letting my 3rd gen go as it is already getting neglected and I want someone to use it. Here are the details:

1998 4x4 SR5 Desert Dune 4Runner
188,000 miles but I had a head gasket go so I had a rebuilt engine installed a few months ago which now has 101k miles. I do drive her some so miles will go up slightly.
Eibach/Toytec springs up front w/ adjustable Billies
Land Cruiser springs out back with Billies as well
Toytec diff drop and 2nd gen rear endlinks
TruCool transmission cooler to prevent milkshake madness

It's in very good shape. No wild mods. Runs great and everything works on the truck (Cold AC/roast you out heat, power windowsand locks, rear heat - replaced metal rear lines with rubber, cruise, rear window, sunroof with no leaks, even the antenna works . Truck has lived it's life in VA and MD; frame is in great shape, no rot.

Cons: I'm not trying to hide anything here. The right front wheel bearing needs replaced. I had planned to fix this and depending on if/when it sells it may still be fixed before the sale.

I am the 3rd owner and have all available maintenance/repair records back to the original owner.

First, big apology to [MENTION=65647]Volley[/MENTION] as I really wanted to buy this as a project for my son and I, but it looks like he's got other plans, so I don't want to buy it and have it sit...

With that said, I went to look at this yesterday and to anyone considering a gen 3, this should be on your short list!

First, Volley has a binder full of history records, which is great.
Newer low mile engine just installed w/101K miles on it-
New Timing belt, water pump, seals and fluids.
The tires look new
LBJ's have been done, along with rear links.
Lifted, the right way.
The interior is in great shape- no tears, everything works and everything
is there.
Exterior is very clean, dent free and no rust.
underside is in great shape! Lots of new (er) parts and it's not a rust bucket.
Other than some minor surface rust, underneath is full of new parts, not rust.

And the best part, it drives great! Goes straight down the road and has good pick up for a 3.4. Engine is quiet, and transmission shifts perfect. Brakes felt good, and steering felt perfect.

This car is done right.

Other than the front bearing, which is minor the next owner would have a worry-free ownership as all of the major things to worry about are done.

Again, I really, really wish I could get this, but it's not the right time.
But I can't say enough good things about this rig and the current owner. Great person who knows what she's doing and she's done this right.

Wish you were closer to Chicago. Is the front bumper Plasti dip?

I'll be in Michigan next week, come get it. It is, it's a cheap OEM like replacement I put on a year or so ago. It's redundancy though because the bumper is black. I just wasn't sure how well it would hold up. Figured paint would just chip off and had the extra dip after doing the wheels so shot it on both sides before installing.

FYI - a friend of mine bumped the corner of my garage moving the truck one day. I got tired of looking at it so replaced it with the cheapie. Still have the crappy chrome original if anyone wants it.
