Solid 2003 V8 4Runner with approximately 169,000 miles. Runs perfectly and is in good shape all around.
This is a 4th generation 4Runner with the 4.7L V8 engine (2UZ-FE). The drivetrain is always-on 4WD with the option to drop it into 4WD Low and to lock the center differential.
The trim package is the Limited edition with a sunroof, leather, power front seats, etc. The sound system is upgraded to an Alpine INE-S920, a combined radio/GPS with HD radio and Sirius. It also includes Bluetooth and a phone hookup via USB.
The suspension is upgraded to an Old Man Emu system (2884 front coil springs, 90000 front struts, 60004 rear shocks, 2895 rear coil springs). This is a suspension upgrade with a 3" lift. Current tires are OEM size (265x65x17) but the lift as well as some slight mods by Slee Offroad allow up to a 33" tire. I ran Nitto Terra Grapplers (285x70x17) for three years without any problem but downsized to improve towing capability last year.
Additional upgrades include custom wiring to make the 12v outlet "always on"; installing an ARB 12v outlet in the rear cargo area to run an ARB fridge (with upgraded heavy duty wiring to handle the amp surge at compressor startup); LED lightbulbs for interior lights; refinished headlight covers; rubber floor mats (alright, the driver's one is slightly dog-eaten by a dog with separation anxiety); and a Tekonsha trailer brake controller.
The timing belt was replaced in Nov 2014 by Charley (great Toyota mechanic in North Boulder). The suspension upgrade was done in 2013 by Slee Offroad in Golden. The battery was replaced one year ago, approximately, with a group 27 size battery. The front wheel bearings (both sides) were replaced by Charley in December 2017. I do most oil changes myself, spring and fall, with a couple performed by Grease Monkey in Boulder when I was feeling lazy. Windshield is new as of December 2017. Drivetrain is lubed spring/fall with oil changes.
Tires are new (six months old) Cooper Discover A/T3. Winter tires (not on separate wheels) are one season old Blizzaks and come with the truck. I also have, if wanted, the old Nitto Terra Grappler 33" tires although they are fairly worn - happy to throw those into the deal if you'll use them otherwise they go to recycling.
Problems: There's a tear in the driver's seat right where you slide in/out. It's not too bad but should be repaired before it gets worse. There's a dent in the driver's side rock guard/step where I came down on a rock out in Moab. It doesn't effect anything other than optics and I never fixed it because I always intended to install sliders anyway. The rear hatch is tricky to open (push down then pull up), which is either a problem or a great way to screw with your friends, depending on how you look at it. The front left turn signal housing is cracked so it let's in a bit of water. This causes the bulb to fail every couple of years, which costs $7 to replace.
History: I picked this truck up in 2013 from Blue Spruce Auto in Boulder with 105,000 miles on it. Since then it's been problem free aside from a dead battery last year. I've taken it on several long overlanding trips including Baja, SoCal, Phoenix (spring training), Utah (multiple times), the Alpine Loop, and an East Coast excursion. It's been a very solid truck and will be missed (swapping out for a newer Tundra with better towing capabilities). Towing capability is decent (it's a V8) but not great. It's rated for 5,000 pounds but I'd keep any towing to about 4,000 or lower based on my experience and the inclines we deal with in Colorado. It is setup for towing with the trailer brake controller and a 7-pin connector. I towed an r pod travel trailer for the last year or so without any problems although the passes can be a 45 MPH grind.
Title is clean. Payment in cash only, no personal checks, etc.
