Making a 40" bar work will depend on the way the light bar mounts, some have large side brackets and some have brackets that kinda tuck under the bar.

Technically I have 40.25" to work with from one a-pillar to the next or about 37.75" in between each a-pillar. The 40" bar could mount up at 40.5". Of course this assumes I can develop a bracket that connects to each a-pillar on the outer sides. Best bet is to weld custom brackets thus you get whatever specs you need.

Finding a decent led light bar at anything but 10, 20, 30, 40 & 50" in the same configuration is tough.

From the photo on my phone, it looked like the guy was balancing himself on the firestick. Mind blown.

Side note: getting several different sets of security nuts with respective bits would definitely make it harder to steel. I'm planning on doing that with my 20" and 2 x 6" rigids.

IMHO, I personally think the one piece light bar looks better, a bit more intimidating.

BUT, I have also been toying with the idea of a 20" bar in the center and two 8-10" bars on the sides, slightly angled out.

Haha, I've just been bouncing back and forth for a while. While I agree the single light bar looks awesome, the mulitple lights give it a kind of classic off-road rig look which I like. But to each his own! :thumb:

I'm currently comparing the Rigid SRs and VisionX xmitter low profiles. 20" bars in the center plus either 6"/10" SRs or 5"/9" Xmitters angled out a bit on the sides. I think Rigids give you more lumens per dollar though.

In case you're looking for different options for mounts...here is a good site - they provide Rigid, etc...with a lot of their mounts.

Clearly I am spending a lot of time trying to figure this out...I should learn how to weld and powder coat - this will solve most of my problems

Look interesting...don't know how the Osram LEDs compare to CREE? Also the price point seems a bit high for what they are offering...meaning they are similar to other Chinese manufactured solutions - but I do like the sizing options.

The Fourtreks look beautiful but are a little too pricey IMO. I may still go this route for my awning but as soon as I start adding lights I will need a cheaper option.

[MENTION=77212]chrisdowling84[/MENTION] I finally put my wind deflector on. It definitely helps with the winds noise. Before I could put my hand on the roof and feel the vibrations from the wind hitting the rack but now that it's on, no more vibrations and wind noise.

I drilled new hole about 2 inches higher and put on some rubber edging so I could have the deflector sitting on the roof.

K, find a 40" light bar that you'll be happy with, bring it to the shop and we'll come up with a bracket that will work...

Joneseyyy had Rigid make him a custom 36" light bar for his Baja Rack. Not sure how much extra these things cost but I think the good companies can work with you.

I found the neoprene stripping on CCGs ebay store slightly cheaper ($13).

I got the rubber from customcargrills.com it's their Neoprene Rubber Edge Trim XXL. It was 16 bucks for 5 feet + shipping. Shipped quick.

It does connect to where the LED bar would sit but I don't think it'll be in the way (mounting brackets). If you don't lower the fairing, it could potentially block lights mounted there.
