Nothing is plug and play with that unit to my knowledge. The Eclipse unit will drop in in place of the standard low performance 2 din systems in most 4th gens and plugs in to the 10 pin and 6 pin plugs that look like one long plug.

Does this mean that it wont drop directly in to the JBL? I only ask these questions bc I went ahead and got one of these despite still being a few weeks away from buying my 4runner.

Also, you didn't need to buy anything else for the install did you? A mount or anything at all I should ahve prepared

It bolted into the mounts that were on my radio no problem. The JBL system uses a 20 pin plug. To make this work you will need the tyto digital interface and you will need to find the pigtail that has the preamp outs on it somewhere. At least this is what I plan to do but I am just getting started. Since I installed my own JBL system I have both setups and mine is running on the standard plugs right now.
 
Wow. I am very interested in this as well.

Though...I have the 10 speaker JBL system with no stock navi. ...but this OK right? I just need to find an adapter? ....what adapters would I need to get so I could make the AVN6620 work with my stock 10 speaker JBL setup?

If I can get all the right goods then I'll probably buy, I'm in Fullerton California...Orange County. Should be a quick and easy ship.

I've done car audio before so I'm familiar with it and all. Hopefully taking the stock unit out won't be so bad.

EDIT: I attached a video of a review to help users better understand this Navi setup. Seems pretty nice and simple. Eclipse has always been known for their sound quality. Maybe it can make the JBL system perform a bit better. I hope at least.

One thing to not, I read that this particular Navi does not have a 3D mode....so it will always look like a over head map. I'm not sure if that's a good thing...at least for me...I'm use to the 3D navigation. Perhaps I'm wrong. I will continue to read up on this as I am VERY interested.

EDIT: I also found the wire harness you would need to keep the JBL synthesis system intact and use an aftermarket headunit.

It isn't exactly cheap, but...its way better than having to rip out all the speakers/amps...and re do them all. No thanks. Ebay has it for around 50 to 70 bux.

Do you need some kind of other harness to use the steering wheel controls with this Eclipse unit? The seller makes it sound like its pretty much plug and play.

He told me he was including the cable that hooked to the steering wheel controls. Pretty sure it's very simply plug and play

So the install was good? Easy to do? How is the sound quality? Better than stock even though your using stock JBL speakers?

I'm thinking of getting this unit because the price is right....and the sound quality is pretty good compared to stock at least....navigation is just a nice plus to have.
 
Just installed a unit in a 2009 SE 4x4 V8. It has an aux plug in the center console and steering wheel controls. I was surprised to find that the stock harness that has the aux control and steering wheel control plugged right into the eclipse avn unit. I plugged in the stock harness and had full access over the steering contols and the aux plug worked. Here is a picture of the 3 stock toyota harnesses that plugged directly into the back of the eclipse unit.

Did he have JBL?
 
I dont think he did.. It was a single disc with a casette tape with an aux plug in the center console. 2009 4runner SE 4x4 V8.

I ordered a Kenwood but if this adapter will work on the Eclipse I will send it back with the iPod cable as I would prefer to use the AUX jack in my center console still.

Do the steering wheel controls lag, or do they work just as well as stock? Is there an option on the unit to switch to AUX to use the input in the center console? I really like the location of the stock AUX input, and would ditch the Kenwood on that alone as long as I can retain the JBL with the adapter.

The Eclipse cameras are discontinued, will the Kenwood backup camera work? (I have one on the way anyways)

If the camera/JBL adapter work, I can pick one up off you this week.

The steering wheel controls work instantly with no lag at all. The aux input can be controlled through either the steering wheel or the touch screen. It comes up as a source unit. So you have the option of am/fm/dvd/mp3/aux.

I have no idea if that adapter will work with your unit. On that picture of the adapter you provided, is the left clear plug the side that plugs into the head unit and the gray plug into your jbl harness? That clear plug on the left side looks like it might be the main harness cable. Im not positive since I have never seen one before.
