Friday and Saturday I went on my biggest 3rd Gen Salvage Yard Hunt to date. I had to pick up a custom box in the Dallas area for a Sport hood that I am shipping to California. I had been wanting to visit some salvage yards in DFW anyway, so I just combined these two things. I looked at around 100 3rd Gen 4Runners in two days and found 5 of these inserts. Yep, you guessed it - about 5% of the 3rd Gens that you will look at in a salvage yard will have these in them. Of course, if you are only looking at 96-98 4Runners that percentage will drop to Zero . These are very hard to find - most of the time they are missing. These OEM rubber inserts are the finishing touch of a very visible part of your center console. They keep your cup holders clean and separate the two compartments. You can easily lift them out for cleaning with the rectangular block in the center.

It is hard to explain how nasty these are when I pull them. I cleaned each of these for less than a minute with soap and an old toothbrush to make them more presentable for the photo. All of these should clean up even better with some more effort, but no guarantees.

E will actually clean up much better than it shows in the photo. I'm boxing a Sport hood to ship to California, so I didn't have much time to scrub these with a toothbrush. I only spent about 30 seconds on each one... If you spend some more time on E it will probably look just like the other 4.

I have only been able to find these in 99-02 4Runner at a salvage yard. You might be able to find them on eBay or from sellers on this site.

I’ve looked and I don’t think you can buy these from Toyota , my guess is that they only come with the console .

I never seem to see any at any of the local Pick-n-Pulls I've been to.
