Fuel consumption error - Maint light reset

Hey guys,

I've run into a couple of problems following the replacement of my evaporator. That was quite an experience but all in all it wasn't so bad, I've attached pics of the carnage.

Everything went back together fine but I have a couple of issues:

The multi info display shows E01 or E00 instead of range or average MPG. Sometimes it will briefly show the range before showing the error. I also had the problem of it randomly converting into metric units (including the climate control) but was able to fix that by disconnecting the battery for a while.

Second issue, possibly related, is I can't reset the maint light after doing my oil change. Now I have seen the instructions all over the place and have successfully done this several times in the past but it won't work now. Have tried the procedure starting from both the ODO and trip A displays to no avail.

The service manual doesn't have any hints except for one saying that if the instantaneous fuel mileage reading doesn't work it could be related to one of the gauge circuits. I've seen a thread discussing the E01 that didn't get resolved but haven't seen anything about the Maint light. Any ideas?
