Hey all ...So iv'e had my 2004 4Runner Sport V6 for about 4 months now. Have done lots of modifications to it and it's pretty much just where I want it.
Since owning the vehicle iv'e had no major issues ...but the battery did die out on me ...So I picked up a new battery.
Here is where the question comes in play. Im sure you guys are all aware of the Fuel Consumption display underneath the climate control.
When i first purchased the truck...the reading read 11.8 L/100km - Yes I am in Canada. After about a week i switched the intake system to the full K&N cold air system...after a few days of putting the intake on the consumption reading started to go up...that could have possibly been from me driving the truck a little harder . The reading stayed at about 13.4 L/100KM after installing the intake kit. Im still not sure why it went up in the first place.
Then i had my battery die out on me . So ofcourse i went and purchased a brand new battery and put it in. Ofcourse when you dissconnect the battery and reconnect it resets everything. After putting the new battery in..the reading read 99.9L/100KM ---funny i know ! haha .
but obviously with driving that consumption number kept going down. But now its at a standstill. Since replacing the battery the reading has not gone down under 15.6-7L/100KM .. I have drove down to seattle from Vancouver and back and the number just wont go down. I haven't done my own calulations on the acctuall fuel im using but im trying to figure out how and why it started at 11.8L and now it seems it wont go any lower than 15.6L
If anyone can chime in on this... would be appreciated!
thanks in advance !
