Fuel door wont close, need help

So I've done some digging and found some people with the same issue but not much information on how they fixed it. I was getting gas the other day and the fuel door just didn't shut. The door does scrape a little bit on the inside as you will see in the video but I don't know if this is a cause. I'll let the video do the rest of the talking.

Use some type of penetrating oil and lube on the hinges as they corrode internally. You wont likely see any corrosion, but it's in there.

The locking pin is not returning to it's normal position, it should be sticking out about 1/2", your's is only out about 1/8", check and see if the release lever is returning all the way back to it's normal position, somewhere along the cable there maybe some corrosion causing the cable to not return to it's normal position, or at the hinge area of the lever something could be binding.

The hinge portion on your's is just like it is on mine, a little rubbing when almost all the way opened, the rubbing is not normal but I haven't see a way to adjust/bend anything to stop the rubbing and still have the door be flush with the body still, I just live with mine being that way for now, it still would hurt to spray a little bit of lube on the hinge areas, but that isn't your problem of it not closing.

Update:
Yea I believe some corrosion is in there, I pulled the pin out some and that made it close. I just need to be a little more cautious with opening and closing the door. Thank you guys for the input

Try getting some good spray lube into each end of the cable if possible and then work the cable for a bit, do this every other week and eventually you may get the cable to free up and work correctly.
