Fuel Filter Location

Just for a better vantage point, anyone have a picture of the undercarriage of 91 Runner showing the location of the fuel filter. I understand its on the passenger side but I just like seeing things before I actually "see" them.

It's mounted on the frame rail under the pass driver seat (under the truck, not the seat).

Thank ya, now one more thing. I am supposed to disable the fuel pump somehow to release the pressure, where is this fuse/switch/relay i am supposed to take out and then put back in?

I just unscrewed the line from the filter on both ends -- a tiny bit of fuel pours to the ground -- no biggie. You don't need to relieve the fuel system first.

i was just reading about how you "should" relieve the fuel system otherwise a fire could happen and this and that...on my ranger i just un plugged the cable under the globe box like nbd but im having a hell of a time trying to figure this one out.

so basically you just go in dry and do it without relieving the fuel system?

That mostly depends on the conditions inside your tank. If it is pretty nasty in there then you will burn through fuel filters rather quickly. My rig sat for quite a while in between owners (which can be murder on a tank) and I put a fair ammount of mileage on it as my daily driver so I plan to replace fuel filters every 18 months or so just to be safe. They are cheap and easy enough to replace so I figure it is worth it, but others may think that is too often.

The Toyota 3.0L V6 is only really a 3.sL0 V6 if connected to an automatic transmission or connected to a 5-speed manual transmission that hasn't had a full tune-up in forever.

Replace the fuel filter every three years along with the complete tune-up.
