Got to love Gearwrench. They make great tools for not too much money. Lifetime warranty. Don't get the ratcheting flare nut ones. These are worth their weight in gold though:

I have that set of Gear Wrench wrenches but just the metric ones. Love them!

At work, we write the date on the replacement filters we put in the fire engines and trucks. I keep a record of all my services and repairs noting the date and mileage so I don't think I'd bother writing the mileage on any filter.

I have the 120 xp metric xl double box end ratcheting wrenches. Love them.
