Ok I have a "06" V-6 and I was wondering where is the fuel filter?? Is it in the fuel tank like my old Dodge??

That's too bad. My old civic had a sweet setup. Just remove the rear seats and access to the fuel pump and fuel level sending unit was right there, mounted on top of the gas tank. I wish more vehicles were as easy to work on as that thing was. No love lost with my runner, however.

There is no need for an external fuel filter, anymore. Gasoline is delivered very clean today. Also all newer vehicles have plastic gas tanks so there is no corrosion.
I dropped my Jeep gas tank (when it had 160,000 miles) to replace the fuel pump. The bottom of the tank was absolutely clean. I wiped the tank out with paper towels, and it barely stained the towels. I was surprised at how clean it was after 12 years of driving it.

I don't like the fact that toyota says the filter never needs to be changed. Most cars are like that now days. Check out this thread from another sight. It's a vw which has lifetime fuel filter.

Not only Toyota says that but all car manufactures say that now.

There are plenty of Toyotas with over 200k-300k on 'em with the original filter but in my case I figured 100k was enough and changed mine just for piece of mind.
If a filter gets clogged it'll just cause the engine to not run right and will throw a CEL long before any damage would occur. Fuel filter troubles are almost more of a myth on Toyotas and really shouldn't be a concern.
