Fuel for the Runner

I've only had my runner 10 days and just filled it up today. Think it had 400 miles on the dealer tank of gas. Not bad, around 18.2 mpg and my wife got a speeding ticket in it 9 hrs after we got it. D-bag cop. Anyway just curiosity getting to me, with all the other vehicles out there like the Tahoe, F-150, and many others that are E-85 compatible why did the Toy company decide that only up to E-10 is acceptable for the 4R? I have a 2012 SR5 with 450 miles on it? What are your thoughts?

What's so good about E-85? You get worse mpg the higher the percentage of ethanol so there's really no gain.

D-bag speeder.

what do you mean gray street? diesel? thats pretty random and vague. coldryder i'm not saying i wish we could use it i'm just wondering what the reasoning behind it. its suppose to so great for the enviro and all that crap and all the fairly technologically advanced stuff on the modern runner just wondering why not this? it seems to be the new craze?

You mean great for the corn farmers and their subsidies? Only other thing the ethanol is good for is for a substitute for high octane VP race fuel.

Subsidies are over for our farmers. 15 is not even approved for distribution yet. Government just started conversations with distribution. GM and others just do this as marketing ploy.

wow. didnt think a little curiosity would stir the pot so much. i def believe that some use it as a marketing ploy. i guess i just thought it was interesting that some market that you can do high percentage ethenol and Toy said forget it... no ethenol for you. it doesnt really bother me and lets be honest i bought a f ing SUV instead of any other vehicle that could get better mileage. i'm not a tree hugger for sure.

I'm gonna be honest I'm members to a Harley forum and there are a lot less a$$ holes on there than here. Some of you guys arent. I started this thread just for kicks and giggles to see what the consensus was on this subject. then i get a bunch of these guys like above that makes me have to explain my every statement. I'll do it again....My wife got the ticket. She doesn't normally speed and hasn't had a ticket before in her previous 8 or so years of driving, and she was on her way to work at 3 am where she does kidney dialysis. And it was literally 7 hrs(correction) after we got home with the runner and went to bed and she got up and left for work. So she wasnt use to it yet either. And yes the cop was a d-bag, not just because he gave her a ticket but because he was a literally a d-bad. I've gotten a ticket before and the cop was nice and I understand I was in the wrong, and ok with it.
