Fuel Leak - Need help identifying part.

1986 22RE 5speed manual. This is the first truck I have really ever worked on so I am still learning, and am still in the beginner stage of engine work and troubleshooting. Have learned a lot so far fooling with the truck and looking around on here.

I have a slight fuel drip coming from this part. It connects to the left back side of the engine block, and I am assuming it is transports gas...since there is gas dripping from it.

It's a fuel injector.

They have replaceable O-rings that go bad.

X2 on the fuel injector. It is a fairly simple fix with a new o-ring

Great. That was my next question, if it had a o-ring or a seal or something that could have gone bad. I'll pull it out this weekend and see what's up. Thanks

maybe while your at it if you want to , send the 4 injectors off to be cleaned , since you will have access to all 4 of them when you take the top plenum air tank off

Ok so I changed out the o rings on all 4 injectors. Made sure not to pinch them when pushing them back into the fuel rail. Put everything back together. All vacuum lines in the right spot, and checked all connectors to make sure they're tight.

Now when I crank the truck it dies immediately. If I hit the gas it will stay running but runs extremely rough, and if I let off the gas for a second, it dies.
Truck did not do this even when the fuel injector was leaking.

So I am going to take everything back off and make sure the fuel injectors are all sitting correct. Anything I should check while I have everything taken apart again???

Oh and another note. I noticed that my cold start injector has not been plugged in since I bought this vehicle (early March of this year). And it's not like it fell off. The PO had it zip tied with some other lines, away from it's plug. I live in FL and even on our coldest mornings, it's rarely in the 40s even in the dead of winter. Is this something that is ok to be unplugged since it doesn't get that cold here? I did try plugging it in but it did not help my issue at all.

Are you getting any check engine lights? Double and triple check your vacuum lines and all sensors on the intake manifold.

Not when it first cranks. My light always comes on when I hit about 30mph, but nothing when first cranking it with this issue.

I have double checked them all but I will triple check again.

My money is on a vacuum leak but it's hard to say without seeing it.
