Fuel Pump Hanger

Hey Guys. Haven't been posting much recently but I have been looking around a lot. So the other day I filled the tank, jumped on the interstate and suddenly lost power. It would crank fine, but wouldn't start. After getting back home I decided I'd pull the pump since I couldn't here it running. I found that the ground wire for the pump had pulled out from the little connector, which is still attached to the pump. From the looks of it it was a gradual thing. I used my Power Probe and the pump works. I was wondering if it's safe to just reattach the wire and go? Or if I need to locate a new hanger? I figure corrosion would probably be an issue, but the hanger is in otherwise find condition.

Okay. So I put in a butconnector, I figured since the connector is already submerged this isn't going to be an issue. However, now that I try to put the pump back in, it doesn't want to go. The bottom of the hanger hits the bottom of the tank, with about 1 inch before the mount ring touches the top of the tank. Am I missing something? I can't see anything that it's hanging up on. Is there a combination or something to get that thing to sit?

Not sure on these, but the baffles in my supra tank meant I had to feed it back in a certain way to get it in. It's very possible the baffles in these tanks present a similar situation since most have a "pocket" for the pump to sit in so the baffles can keep fuel to it. I just haven't had to deal with it yet on mine knock on wood

Yup, is it rotated correctly? It's been a few, but I think there's only one way that pump wants to go in. If it isn't now, rotate it so the hard fuel lines coming out the top are pointing to the side of the truck and see if it'll go in then.
