Fuel pump possibly going?

I noticed my 4runner only takes one turn-over off the start to start the engine right after filling up. But after I drive for awhile it'll take 3 or 4 cranks to get it to fire up. I just tried removing the gas cap for a moment and putting it back on (relieving the negative pressure) and fired it up and it started in 1 crank.

Do gas caps have a valve to relieve pressure? If so, how do I clean it?

Is this a sign that my fuel pump is on its way out?

Cheers!

I had a weird restart issue. Read this http://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-gen-t4rs/90760-engine-cranks-3-times-too-long.html . Does this sound like your issue?

First try driving with your gas cap loosened and see if it cures your problem. If it does, replace the gas cap.
I read through that thoroughly - but didn't want to hijack the thread as I wasn't sure if it would be related. Seemed similar though. Good idea - I'll loosen it and drive for awhile, see if it continues.
