I'm scheduled to have the airbag recall done and the dealership looked up my VIN and also said I'm due for the fuel pump recall as well. I already read the horror stories about the airbag recall (dash bulging, noises, etc.) so I'm prepared to take pictures of my dash before I bring the 4Runner in.
I haven't seen too much information on the fuel pump recall process so I'm not sure what is involved. I'm guessing they have to drop the gas tank. I don't have an aftermarket gas tank skid plate, but I do have aftermarket skid plates that extends from the front to the transmission, transfer case and cross member. Do I need to remove those? I can't imagine them touching those, but I fear that they'll round off the bolts.
Do they remove wheels for any of this process? Just trying to learn what all is involved before taking it in next week. Thanks!
