Higher octane fuel does nothing for our engine, our engine compression is not high enough to take advantage of the higher octane rating. High octane fuel only delays combustion in high combustion engines. Basically making the spark plug make the boom not the heat from the compression of the pistons. I had an 08 Yamaha R6 with a power commander and I had it dynoed on 97 and 101 and had a gain of 1 HP, But that's with a high rev engine, my red line was 16000 rpm. As for fuel cleaners with more aggressive cleaner then what's normally in basic fuel might not work but I say if it makes me feel better, it must work.

The guys that are seafoaming regularly, don't you have to change out your spark plugs after each seafoam treatment?

Actually using 87 is great for DDing but if you enjoy putting your foot in it your better of running 91 or 94 because when you open it up she just doesn't give you the power as well some pinging with low octane..IMHO. I only use 94 when towing or traveling since you get a little more juice out of it.. I can see and hear the difference having towed the with 87 and 94 on the exact same route had way more pinging with the 87 when throttle was down compared to 94.. I also use Lucas Fuel system cleaner and lube...

Actually you should do a search. I know I saw somewhere that V6 does actually make more power 87 vs 94 like most engines..The computer can change settings to make it run well on 87 but it runs best on 94..

Can someone post up a how to using sea foam for our 4rs? I know I can find a generic but one for our trucks would be great!

I've been trying to figure out whether I have bad 02 sensors or bad cats. Seems abut once every 2 months I get the 0430 code. I reset it by disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes. Then it goes away but usually comes back within a day or two. I do the reset once or twice more then I fill it up with 91 octane and throw some seafoam in it. Only then does the cel stay off for a couple of months. MPG has gone to hell doing this though. So far it has worked exactly this way twice. Could be a coincidence I guess but I am trying to rule everything out because I refuse to spend the stupid amount of money they want to replace the cats....especially considering I live somewhere where smog testing is not done.

Do the spark plug anti fouler trick. I spent $1425 changing out both manifolds, all four sensors, bought 16 head studs, New maf, and New plugs.after all that,I still got p0430 and $5 mod fixed it and fixed mpgs. It's been almost 900 miles since the mod.

We only get 87,89, or 93.
