Fuel Tank - MPG Question

Looking for thoughts on this from those who have experience in this area. Noted that once my fuel level shows at 1/2 tank or less, the MPG indicator starts to drop in indicated MPG. Understand the actual MPG is not accurate on the display.

The question is what in the fuel delivery system is causing this or is this just the electronics in the panel reading the MPG?

To clarify question. As the fuel tank is emptied and level lowered, does it require more effort to pull fuel from tank into fuel system and thus impact performance and MPG. We all know its an electric pump system and if the filter clogs-can impact MPG as well as the way fuel consumption is indicated.

I did complete a search and didn't note anything specific to the question. I did see some Performance shops offering alternative fuel delivery systems stated increase fuel flow, access to components, etc.

Perhaps with your experience, you can direct where to look or have suggestions. Also, note Beacon is home-Nice looking rig. I am originally from New City.

Simple answer, you're imagining things if you are thinking you are getting worse gas mileage (as in few miles per gallon) towards the end of your tank than when it is full just because there is less fuel in the tank.

Now, your RANGE (estimated miles left in the tank) might be dropping faster, just as the swing of the fuel gauge itself is not linear (just because you drove 75 miles on the first 1/4 of tank of fuel, does not mean when you drive another 75 miles you're at half a tank).
