Fuel Tank Relocation (and new Rear Bumper design)

Your rear bumper design is getting even better, very cool! A removable swing out on a good looking low profile bumper would be amazing. I've been needing an armored rear bumper, mostly for the swing out so I can carry a spare 35, but wanted the option to not have to carry it around all the time. That's pretty much the only reason why I haven't purchased a rear bumper yet. Keep working your magic and let's see this thing through.

Truth!
eimkeith products make me want to build another 3rd Gen. This is bad.

absolutely. in the works, but I'd like to have a production bumper on the truck to double-check everything before I start making the skids.

- I've accidentally made an entire system for the rear of the frame, it seems (looking into swaybars also) :spy:

don't forget the 4 link :reddance: I am going to have to get another job for all of this awesome bling.

Me too!

Can't wait to get my truck off of the jackstands; it's waiting on the 4 Link also. :)

just curious about this. Will the 4link have all new mounts at both axle and frame? I'm just trying to decide about reinforcing stock mounts or hold out till 4 link. I'm pretty sure I know the answer but....

yep. much longer links, and nothing hanging off of the bottom of the frame rails. Oh, and it'll be optimized for 35s. (Pretty much like AssBurns setup, but with rising anti-squat and no sheet metal cutting.)

I've put random in-progress shots up here

it's going to be a little while before I can get that into production, though - the front cross member needs to double as a high clearance dual TC mount, and I need to verify that the geometry works with the LBJ pushed forward 1" as well as stock (I'm going to use the Solo Motosports LCAs) - so I still have to buy some stuff before I can finalize everything.

By dual TC are you referring to Transfer Case? Aka, Crawlbox?

I just went with a single mount for the crawl box welded to the front factory cross member. Then I used Marlins HD T-case mount for the mount. It's seen many many miles of hard trial and hasn't moved at all. It's bomber. It doesn't hang below the factory cross member and it was easy to do:

and yeah, dual cases - but I'm going to be above (removing) the factory crossmember; at frame rail height. I'm doing flat belly.

Your keeping the front IFS? So no front 3 or 4 link kits? Dang :pout:

Those Solo arms push the spindle foreward 1"? I'm surprised they don't list that under the product description (at least I didn't see it).

Will you be incorporating shock mounts and everything into the rear 4 link kit? Or just the link brackets? 3rd gen rear axle version and 4th gen rear axle version with discs? Lol I can dream. Thanks for sharing the link on your progress.

How big of a body lift are you planning on?

I haven't measured how far the factory cross member hangs down below the frame rails but eyeballing it I'd say about 3". That's fine until you try and get the dual cases in. Your gonna be cutting out most of the tunnel and probably some of the seat floor pan. After you clock the cases to gain the height it's gonna end up being a major issue without a very large BL.

My cases sit about 3/4" below the tunnel with no body lift. Add in the clocking angle and that raised height for the flat belly and do the math. I have no doubt your fab skills are more then capable of making this work and can't wait to see what solutions you come up with. Just giving you some food for thought. If you need any measurements off my rig or photo's let me know.

Right? I had to email them for confirmation on that:

Hey guys,

Do the stock length LCAs move the LBJ forward?

The outboard shock mounts are included, but will also be a stand-alone product - being developed concurrently, yes.

1" BL. There's almost enough room to clock the Tcase without the BL and get flat... almost. (been measuring for this for over a year, that's what pushed me to do the BL.)

also, where'd our "like post" function go?

Besides that, once you've got that inch, the front suspension can be put back closer to the center of its travel range, the tank can go up (or you can stick it in the back), yada yada. lots of wins for an inch. ;)

I figured you already had some math done. Do you have the gear drive reduction box yet? Those things are getting harder and harder to find.

I believe the like button was taken away as a social experiment. Will people still post useful relevant info without any way to show appreciation for it? Time will tell. lol

Yeah, I've hoarded 2 - one for the 4Runner, and one for the Taco (if I ever get around to it.)

lol, we'll see. we've already seen some SPE in action, so why not?

Yah no shit. That's probably the biggest selling feature of stock length replacement arms. Good to know, definitely food for thought.

Oh, and I "like" the rest of your post. Although I don't think me saying all of this is meaningful at all.

this is great info and thank you for posting up the progress. I am very excited about it. Also that is great info about the solo front LCA's.

Addison, I would love to see you back in a 3rd gen...just cause I know it would be a TOTALLY AWESOME BUILD! (nothing against your amazing 4th gen...)

Do it!!!
eimkeith, Thanks for the PCK. Great fit! Great work!

I like the looks of the other products you are working on.

Cheers
