Full Length Low Profile Racks - recommendations?

Dollars are a likely factor for some. You can find a prinsu at times for under $800.. sherpa is $1100. I think the prinsu doesn't look good on 4runners / the top rails look curved. I know it's likely an optical allusion but it really bugs me

Agreed. The Sherpa/Southern-Style Off-road both had better looking profiles to me and much more aesthetically pleasing. Can't wait to receive my Sherpa in a few weeks!

I was very torn between the Sherpa and UpTopOverland. My buddy ordered a Sherpa and I was able to get a decent deal on the UpTopOverland, so went that route to not have a complete twin 4Runner lol.

I think you'll like the Sherpa a lot!

Hello.

I am interested in getting a low profile full length roof rack for my 2020 T4R. I like both the Gobi and Prinsu models and I will have them installed professionally. I could install myself if drilling holes would not be required.

I want to also be able to attach a cargo box to either one of them.

What is your recommendation?

What did you end up going with? Were you able to find one that works with a cargo box? I have a Yakima box I would like to still be able to use with a full length rack.

Which is why I have one on order! But I'm wondering why people are opting for the Prinsu which requires silicone and doesn't seem to be built as strong as a Sherpa.

Money for sure, but I was able to get the Prinsu full no drill for a GREAT price during their spring sale. So that was a huge deciding factor. The silicone shouldn't scare you. There are a bunch of threads on here with how people have tackled the install and have no issues with the silicone or whatever they use. Just use your brain and do research about best installation practices and you'll be fine.

I just installed my UpTop Bravo rack. It's very nice and doesn't require any drilling. The fitment and precision is top notch. I highly recommend it.

I haven't bought a rack yet, but I have postponed the box for now.

I know the Gobi is a bit more expensive and it comes with the ladder whether you want a ladder or not. Go I also has that mesh platform on the rack and I don’t know if it is useful.

If prices were the same between Gobi and these others, would you go with a Gobi?

I have had a Gobi style rack before this one. It wasn't as low profile and it was much heavier. Not to mention the poor business practices Gobi has.

I have the Sherpa now. White I like the flat platform, I miss the recessed tray of my old Gobi.

I think the fact that it is recessed is one reason I keep looking into it. I like to have rails around the periphery of the rack as opposed to no rails at all. But it is more expensive and it does not work with a sunroof unless you get the specific dedicated model which of course has smaller tray.
