Full size CB mounting

I am wracking my brain trying to come up with a clean mount for my Cobra 29. Is anybody else running a full size CB in their cab? If so, a photo or two and a description of how you mounted it would be appreciated. I have a double din head unit already in the dash.

I mounted my Cobra 18 WX ST II in the dash, but I have a single din head unit. I used the clips that come with the dash kit to attach the CB to the radio and slid everything in. Fits perfectly and looks relatively OE.

I have the exact same cb as opie does but i too have a double din. where i put my cb was leaning up against the center console on the passenger side next to the seat, with the lights and knobs facing me and the cord ether chilling in the passenger seat or in the drink holders.

the wires are hidden under the floor mat. ill try n get u some pictures tomorrow when its light out. this was the best place i could thing of for such a large unit as well as most convenient. also it dosnt get in the way of the person in the passenger seat.

The location may work for me, but I feel the need to have it secured somehow. It would not ride well just sitting on the raised lip of my Husky Liner mats.

i lay my floor mat over it. so the floor mat is kinda folded up on the side of the cb to help hold it in place and hide the wires

I'd say a lighter on the left, what looks to be a mint of some sort and a remote on the right, and a hand towards the bottom (the arrow isn't real). Oh, and there's the cb all the way on the right, of course. That should cover it :humble:

Ha ha ha from cb location to lighter identification lol.

You basically are gonna be limited to the side of the tranny "hump".

I can't say there was a science to mounting it. I just used the brackets from the radio mounting setup and drilled some holes in it to line up with the screw holes in the cb. It gets extremely tight at the coax out on the back FYI.

Disregard all of that...just read you have a double din radio lol

would it fit in the center console storage area? Thats really the only way i could see a full size cb look both clean and half decent. Youd have to flip it up everytime you needed to turn it on or change the channel, which i doubt is often.

Is that a maglight? jk
Nope, its my dick. haha sorry had to lol.
yeah i love the place for the mag light. it dosnt get in the way but is super easy to grab when i need it for what ever. i have another smaller AA mag in the center console

no, the coax cable sticking out the back is too big. the lid wont close. even with the 90 deg bend. i already thought about that. this was the most functional, cleanest install i could come up with.

plus i put stuff in my center console

But lets keep thinking of somewhere else to put it. id love to hear!!
