I had a full basket Baja Rack on mine for about 2 1/2 years before replacing it with the SSO rack that has been on there since Christmas. Since the swap I seem to be getting marginal but consistently better mpg. I believe the front fairing that seals to the roof as well as the lower profile has a bearing on this, but I can't positively say you would have the same results. I can say without qualification that the round tube designs of the Baja, Gobi, Drabbits style racks lend themselves to easier tiedown access for hook ended straps, cinch straps or bungees than the T-slot designs of the SSO, Front Runner, Prinsu styles. Nothing wrong with the T-slot designs, but you need to buy additional hardware, sometimes at a considerable expense, to offset the versatility of a hook over round tube design. I had that Baja Rack basket filled up a couple times with $40 worth of bungees, ratchet straps, and bungee mesh over it and was ready to go. The T-slot design requires a little more planning. Other than the consistent gain in mpg I'm actually still somewhat on the fence about the SSO rack. Just something to consider.
