full size utility rack options

Was looking for some guidance to see if there were any full-sized flat/utility rack options out there? Search currently yields mostly Baja Racks, but I'm hesitant to pull the trigger due to this current thread.

I think the only other flat racks I'm seeing are the Slimline II, which from my understanding isn't a full-size rack, and the K9 rack, which doesn't have the sunroof cutout option that I'd prefer.

I just may end up nabbing a 3/4 rack if there are no other alternatives.

Thanks in advance!

Current list, thanks to Simpleman74 and MTN4RNR with the quick responses. Please let me know if I've missed any.

Hopefully this will help others in their search for a flat rack :girl:

Take your pick.

Has anyone made a rack using the k9 mounting tracks in combination with a prius rack. If this would work you would have a no drill full rack that you could the take out the slates for the sun roof. But I'm not sure if is even possible.

Well..as far as the Prinsu goes you're wrong...

Baja Rack Info

Just to keep your decision informed, see this thread regarding the Baja Rack mounting feet issue. Baja Rack Advisory

Baja Rack has a solution and have recalled the mounting feet, but even guys getting racks post awareness of the issue are receiving them with the old foot design. They will probably fix it before you order. For some the damage is done.

If I were to do it over again I would order the Baja Rack flat utility without the sunroof cutout as it is a narrower mounting track than the remainder of the rack. It has to be for the cutout frame, but it limits where you can mount things like RTT or awnings. I still like the low profile design of the flat utility rack. Time will tell on the steel construction and rust issues.

Hope this helps.

My vote is PrinSu - especially after speaking with Zach.

We've gotta support the guys who support the community - it doesn't hurt that he makes a bad-ass product as well!

Just be prepared for crazy wait time on the Gobi, as well as change in production date, shipping date, etc.
Like the others have said Baja and Prinsu not only make solid products, but the owners and management there are great!

Prinsu makes a 3/4 rack no drill for the 5th gen. Oh, and lead times are great 2-5 weeks depending on your specific order!

Looks great! I have a prinsu sitting in my garage waiting to go on. Where did you run the power for the light into the truck?

I haven't run it yet, I should have it done this weekend though. I plan on running it down the B pillar. I didn't want to drill until I was satisfied with the mounting location.

I have moved the light bar yet again. It made way too much wind noise in front of the wind deflector. I moved it back behind the deflector mount as low as I could get it. I cut the brackets down and drilled new holes in them. I got a 1 x 4 foot sheet of 1/4" lexan that I will make a transparent wind deflector that the light can shine through.

Are their any other roof rack options that are lower profile than the Gobi Stealth rack? I like the low profile design of the Drabbits roof rack, but don't want to deal with the long lead times that many forum members have experienced.

No. Gobi has shut down everyone else. Any of the racks that are in the first page of this thread are fairly low profile. The Baja Utility rack is a good option if you want a mesh floor. No basket style rack beyond Gobi and drabbits are low profile. Unless you made your own.:rockon:
