Full suspension replacement- stay oem or go aftermarket?

My 4runner appears to have the original struts/spring/shocks, surprisingly it doesn't sag. But it does ride rough. I am fine with the current ride height, just want to replace the suspension. I don't do anything extreme with the vehicle off road, maybe some camping.

Should I stick with Toyota's parts or are there better options from 3rd parties.

My 02 had 180K on original suspension when I bought it.
It serves as my DD so I wanted to keep as close to stock as possible.
Went with KYB shocks/struts all around as well as Toyota springs.
Would have went with Toyota shocks/struts but they were priced much higher.
Very happy with the set up, rides very nice.
I also replaced LBJ’s, inner/outer tie rods and end links……all OEM Toyota.
Lots of options out there.

I just posted a near-identical thread asking basically the same thing. I found this full kit for cheap from TRQ 1996-02 Toyota 4Runner 16 Piece Steering & Suspension Kit TRQ PSA59936 but it almost seems too cheap to be reliable. Do you have a link to where I could find the OEM parts?

I just posted a near-identical thread asking basically the same thing. I found this full kit for cheap from TRQ 1996-02 Toyota 4Runner 16 Piece Steering & Suspension Kit TRQ PSA59936 but it almost seems too cheap to be reliable. Do you have a link to where I could find the OEM parts?

I buy all my Toyota parts online from Conicelli Toyota as they are knowledgeable and helpful if I have any questions.
Several other online sources for factory Toyota parts.

Here is Toyota's official website where you can find a parts center near by and order parts. Word of warning, the price you see on their website isn't always the same as the one you pay if you order in the store. Doesn't make sense why it is this way. It might not be the cheapest place, but it is a guarantee that it is genuine OEM parts.

People seem to like Rockauto.com but it doesn't only sell OEM

Bilstein 5100s all the way around, roll in some new springs, and call it a day.

For the money spent you’re going to have a hard time finding better.

That way if you do decide to upgrade in the future, you’re already most the way there. All you’ll have to do is get some taller rear springs, and move your clip setting for the right height setting upfront.

Wheeler‘s off-road gives you a 10% off coupon for your first order. For as reasonable as a bilstein 5100s are, they’re just simply isn’t any point in doing anything else unless you want to go to a higher level piece of equipment. If the budget is that tight, just save until you can swing the 5100s would be my opinion.
