Fumoto Drain Valve

I did my first oil change a couple of days ago and the mess was not pretty. I've used Fumoto drain valves on other vehicles before, but location of oil plug on this T4R is concerning, as it's pointed directly to the ground which provides little protection if an object were to hit that drain valve I'm referring to, which measures 1.25". What I found great about our T4R is the METAL splash shield as all other vehicles I've owned were made of hard plastic. So a metal splash shield is certainly more protective, but what if?

Just curious if someone has used those drain valves and what their take on them. Thx

I've been running the F103-S, which has the short nipple. Easy enough to hook a hose on it but doesn't stick as far down as the regular N.

Just picked up an Oil Udder to avoid the mess of the oil filter as well.

You'll be golden with both of them.

I have one on mine, but I also have RCI skids so I'm not too worried about it snagging anything.

I installed one of these a few oil changes ago. Great product, great functionality. I would highly recommend one.

I got the f103s as well. It doesn't go past the stock skids, so you should be fine.

No experience with one on a 4runner, but I've run the F103S on our Sienna the last 15000 miles or so. With that and their hose kit, oil changes are almost too clean! I'd have to imagine on a V6 4Runner, a Fumoto + the top mounted filter would make changes stupid easy.

If you end up getting one, order the F133 not the F103. The 103 is the old valve with a smaller outlet. F133 has a larger drain and so it only takes about 4 minutes to drain the oil, vs 15 with the old one.

I've had one installed for 30k miles with stock skid plates. Mostly city driving with an occasional trip on a forest road. No problems.

I have the V6, and for the toyota oil filters I have a socket for a 1/2 drive ratchet. No more struggling to get an oil wrench on the filter, its in a tight spot sometimes lol. Easy peasy.

I run the 103N with an RCI skid. It’s just too easy! I recommend it.

I was also worried about breaking it off, but seems its tucked enough to be okay. I'd like to get one if I could actually remember to buy one before changing the oil, but I just changed without thinking of it. Looks like I'll have to wait another 5k miles lol.

FWIW, the older Sienna (ours is an 05) canister filters aren't really easy to change either lol. Above some crossmember, below the front bank exhaust manifold, and at an odd upward angle. Took me forever trying from top or bottom to get to thread on.

Wish I knew about this. I dont think the F133 was out when I got mine. If its a 10 min difference I might just swap it out.
