Fuse question

I am hardwiring my radar detector to my fuse box. Can any of the blanks be used or is it best to just tap into the radio fuse?

I tapped into the 12v Cig lighter fuse when wiring my 9500ix.

Ran the wire up under the driver A pillar, under the head liner and its mounted right next to the rear view mirror. Cant even see it from the outside.

+1, did the same with my V1. I'd use an add a circuit to tap into that fuse.

cig lighter over radio it is. already have the add a fuse adapter. Thanks for the input!

FWIW if you have the auto-dimming rear mirror you can splice right into that wire as well.

Yeah I have heard. Not really comfortable doing that though (wiring is not really my specialty) and I couldn't find a really good write up on how to do it.

12v cig lighter fuse + mini-add-a-circuit here. Ran the wire up the A pillar and under the headliner, just like eskimochaos did.

My next step is to add a kill switch (I drive in Virginia a lot) in the spare space on the dashboard, to the left of the steering wheel, using the FJ Cruiser's Aux Lights OEM button (already ordered from Curt at Elmhurst), with a modified icon.
