Fuse snapped off - what to do?

New member
Power outlet 15a fuse blew this afternoon when using a 12v compressor. Went to replace it. It felt like it came out normal but both ends are left in the slots. What's the normal solution. Go get a new fuse panel from the dealer and move everything over to the new panel?

Not trying to be a dick,

But is it possible that this is the first time you've replaced a
Micro blade fuse? There's not really anything that sticks out that could break off...

Can you post a pic?

May be OK as stated above. If not, use small needle nose pliers or a small pick tool and remove the remaining parts. Try to not let the tool touch any other metal parts while doing this or disconnect the battery for safety.

I really appreciate the quick reply. Yes, I think you are right. New type of fuse to me (interior fuse panel). This is on a 2010 4runner limited. Looking at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuse_(automotive) it looks like the low profile mini fuse (not the micro) which would mean, yes, it's the first time I've ever seen one, and I assumed incorrectly that it was a standard length mini fuse that snapped off. I am relieved and learned something new. Thanks again!

I'm pretty sure I had the same reaction when I pulled a fuse to install my dashcam.... it was the first time I'd seen a low profile mini fuse as well!

At my shop I refer to this style of fuse as the "Lieutenant Dan" fuse (because it has no legs) and my parts guys know exactly what I'm talking about! LOL
