Hey guys! Im new to this forum, but i have been around toyotas for as long as i remember. A little about me- i currently have a 89 landcruiser all built and its my DD. I have been building it for a few years now and love taking it out on the trails and camping. I have recently been thinking about selling it and buying something more reliable, more fuel efficient, more luxurious, and a little more hp. Thats what brings me here. I think i have made my mind up on the 4th gen 4runner.
I wont be buying one for a while, but im just trying to figure out what to look for, and what i should pay. I will want a lift, probably 33's and front bumper, So i need to get the runner cheap enough to have money left over for those mods.
As for lift i wouldnt want anything smaller than 3" i dont think. Here are some pics of size im looking at. If anyone could tell me about what size it is that would be awesome.

Your cruiser is awesome!

Depending on whether you want a V6 or V8 and what trim package, match that up with your price point and that should give you the ball park years you can go with.

There is a 08 v6 sr5 with leather, moonroof and procomp wheels for 15,000. Its got 130,000 miles on it. Is that a fair price? Still needs the lift and tires. Then if i have any money left over that can go towards a bumper..
 
$15k isnt bad for that. Maybe a bit expensive for the miles. Btw is your screenname in reference to ty evans the skateboard filmer haha
 
Don't see why you would want to give up the LC, for the up grades you would put in on a gen4 like you want, you could build your some more and probably do a rebuild on the motor and be pretty much a fresh start on it.

It looks like a beast already.

Mine has 107k and booked at 16k +/- for reference for you.

The engine is in good condition. Its just i need something a little newer that i can drive up to the snow or where ever. Im just tired of the little things that go wrong. Recently my fuel pump got clogged on my way home from school, and it was storming outside.. not my idea of fun. Had to call my dad and we towed it home.

Totally understand what your saying, this goes out, that needs repaired.
Kinda the same reason why I have a newer vehicle, just not as rugged as yours for playing with.
My 04 got stolen, then got my now 08.
 
Ok so im just trying to figure out my price range...

What lift is best bang for your buck? I want 3" or bigger.
Bumper- what options are there? I dont need a winch, and i dont want the big bull bar. Price?
 
How about the OME 3" kit? I have had good experience with OME in the past, but are there any similar kits that are not as expensive?

*Edit- as i do more research it sounds like the toytec is a better kit? Any experience? Let me know
