Gap between 60/40 rear seat split

Hi all. Is this gap normal or should I have the service center take a look? It's flush more towards the button but is separated by about an inch or so at the top. This was not the case when I first got the truck.

I see you have a carseat in the same seat as well. Something went wonky when I first moved the seat up a bit. Hopefully it's safe for the next week or so until I get time to bring it in.

Mine is bent like that. I removed my 60 side bottom for improved vehicle camping. I think my ass bent it sliding over the seat back getting in and out of the passenger door. I could give a **** tho. I'm ripping both out and putting in a cargo floor when I have the funds/time/buildspace.

Yep, although mine at this point is only a booster so I don't use the theaters like you are.

OP, does your 4Runner have the 3rd row?
I have a 2015 SR5 Premium with the 3rd row and my gap is just as large as yours. It has been this way since I bought it used about a year ago. I've always thought it was normal.
I can snap a picture later, if you'd like.

So adjusting the "40" seat back isnt correcting this issue? I don't sit in the back but I'm pretty positive the 40 seat has adjustable back and reclines but the 60 part doesn't. Lower handle near door and push the 40 seat back to line up with the other

Both sides of mine recline.

Same. I have a third row and also have that gap.

Mines a 2014 with the 3rd row and I’ve got the same gap up top. I normally don’t pay attention but when you look in the rear view and notice it you’re like wtf is wrong with that seat

Seems like my comment went ignored. So I will say it again a different way.

I'm 85-90% sure that is a bent seat bracket from putting weight on the seat back when it's down. Read my other comment to see how I did that.

A lot of good points here, I don't have time to quote everyone's, but thank you. I'm sure we could have bent something by sitting on it to get access to the third row. It also seems like having a 3rd row and folding down that seat occasionally might cause the gap. To the comment who said it was like that when you bought it, I wonder if the truck had been test driven and played around with before so the gap occurred thereafter...
