Garage door opener not working:

I have a 2005 4Runner and a revolving code garage door opener. It has worked fine 5 years up until this afternoon. I thought it was the garage door unit, but my wife's car still works fine and both remotes to the door. Only thing that stopped working is my 4Runner transmitter.

I've tried resetting it per manual with both outside buttons held for 20 seconds until light flashes fast, then tried setting button 1-3 on the door again, but no luck. The orange light on the 4Runner transmitter just flashes slowly and the "set" or "learn" button on the garage door unit does not flash when setting up the 4Runner remote. So it's like it's not even sending a signal, but the orange light is flashing slowly.

Could the 4Runner transmitter have gone bad and if so anyone know how to replace and what else it controls? The sunroof is right there too, so I wonder if the button to the sunroof goes through the same board? Anyone know the cost on the board?

The part numbers may have been updated but if you type in those part numbers at an online OEM dealer it should redirect you to the current part number. I myself bought one from Concielli (Partznet) and it takes all of 2 minutes to get the old one out and the new one in. Couldn't be easier. I want to say it was about $100 shipped when I bought it last summer.

I will try that and see what happens. RIght now the light flashes slow on any of the 3 buttons when they are pressed. I also emailed Homelink before I received your thread.
