Garmin iQue voice nav questions and Topo maps questions.

I was sure that when I first installed the garmin software there was an option to change between a male and female voice (in English!).

Anyone can confirm or refute this?

If possible can you inform me how? I have searched the Garmin site and it only speaks (pun ) of changing voice by language.

(I'm getting a little tired of the holy than tho female voice telling me I'm off route and recalculating )

PS anyone purchased the MapSource US TOPO 24K National Parks (West) CD? I found it for US$166 - Ouch! Any place with better prices? How have you found it, operationally?

I don't have the software with me but I am almost positive you have to go back to the original installation CD and there was a change voice option there.

Yeah that's what I thought but when I went back to it, there only seemed to be options for Languages, and you get a different female voice for the US vs the UK. I've switched to UK voice to see what she's like

My US voice I named Dorothy for two reasons
1. She led the party to the magical land of Oz (just like leading me!)
2. The day I bought it, my daughter had her opening night on stage as...you guessed it....Dorothy.

Now I need a new name for the Brit voice. Hmmmmmm....Samantha Fox :
