Gas Pedal 94 Toy

I recently purchased my 94 4runner with 200k miles on it. Everything is great except my gas pedal. It looks like I have to press quite hard to get any power out of it. I don't have a heavy foot - but I might need it if I want to get any power. I thought maybe my floor mat was in the way, but it's clear. Is this normal? The pedal has absolutely no power from stand alone to 1/2 inch pressed in.

Check your throttle cable. A lot of people have adjusted their throttle cables and it has helped with the gas pedal and power. It tends to get loose after years of driving and this will effect the response you get from your pedal. There are some write ups on the site if you search for "throttle cable." The 3.0 is underpowered anyways, but you should have more response from the pedal halfway down. Hope this helps.

the gas pedals on these trucks are alot stiffer than most other cars i have found. Mine also has some slack in the cable you just get used to it after a while
