another one is whenever truck is running i have a fuel smell thats pretty strong coming from exhaust...been told i think by someone said cat converter..what do you think?

Same here. Any solutions? I amleaning towards something with the ignition but no CEL for misfires... I'm thinkning maybe changing the wires would help, spark plugs are new NGKs. All connections seems really solid, but it has to crank a good second before it catches. Also the usedoil had definite gas smell to it which seems lie incomplete combustion to me...
Also it is not running perfectly 'smooth' especially when listening to the exhaust. ind of has a rhythm to it whihc leads me to think it has a cylinder that is not working 100% but no CEL...
How does yours sounds? is it a perfectly even humming when idling or driving? Mine i think sounds too much like a muscle car, but I only just got it so nothing to compare to. 1997 w/144k miles
