Gauge and Center Console Lighting Options

Hi,

Newb here. I did however do some searching before I posted this topic. But I did not find any definitive sources (only a few, such as the group buy for the LED lights).

I want to replace my gauge clusters (black on white wording) with blue lights for both the cluster and the center console controls (AC, ETC, and Fan controls). Basically I want to rid myself of the green lighting.

Also are there any mods to softly turn off the interior lights when the doors are closed?

The sizes of bulb depend on the year. Look in here:

If I remember Correctly, 2000's use 3 #24's in the gauges themselves, and #74's for everything else (like the key ring light, trans. shifter, glovebox) I don't remember what the bulbs for the HVAC and ECT/Rear window buttons are. They might be the neo-wedges, might be #74. Just read that first thread.

There are like several different kinds of 74s on the autoillumination stores page. Do you know which one exactly will fit?

A 74 is a 74. The only difference is number/type of LED's and the light pattern produced by them. You can see the ones I used in my build thread page 2. Link is in signature.

Do the bulbs last a long time like the oems? I read that autoillumination ones are not that great?

I've never read that. Mine are doing fine after 6 months.

Thanks for the plug on my thread Ripcord. But yeah a thread like this comes up very often. As far as the bulb sites go I've used most of them and can tell you this.
Autolumination has better choices however half of my bulbs went out after 6 months or so but the other half is still going strong and it's been almost 2 years I think.
Superbrightleds.com died on me pretty quickly but the 2nd batch is now going strong for about a year.
VLEDs I've had a couple bulbs go out but got them to send me some new ones for free. These bulbs I feel are better quality. They're more expensive but it's dang good bulb
