There's an axle code on your lf door jam... it should have 4:10s

Could be 4:30's if its got a locker, thats what i have in my junk. Locker might not have been an option after 01 though, i forget what year that stopped.

A good rule of thumb:

3.73 @ 2000 RPM 67 MPH (2WD models)

4.1 @ 2000 RPM 60.5 MPH

4.3 @ 2000 RPM 56 MPH

Almost. The 2WD has 3.90's.

To be honest, I don't even understand all the different ratios you posted but I was told that I have 3.90's. If I have less, that would explain the power loss. Will be upgrading to 4.56 before Christmas.

I found these codes online, and mine is A03A, so it's a 4.10

You are both correct. If the 4Runner had 225/75-15 tires when sold new it was 3.73 and if it had 265/70-16 tires when sold new it had 3.90s (both 2WD auto). V6 4WD Auto will generally have 16's and 4.10's, but certain options or smaller wheels can change that.

Most door stickers call out 15" wheels even though many/most had 16's - so you have to look at the axle code for a first reference... then do a spin test since swapping a 3rd member is easy and could have been done any time in the last 25 years... (mine came with 3.73s, then swapped to 4.10s and now has 4.88s, for example)

You are both correct. If the 4Runner had 225/75-15 tires when sold new it was 3.73 and if it had 265/70-16 tires when sold new it had 3.90s (both 2WD auto). V6 4WD Auto will generally have 16's and 4.10's, but certain options or smaller wheels can change that.

Almost there. 2WD V6 with 225s had 3.73. 4WD V6 with 225s had 3.90. 2WD V6 and 4WD V6 with 265s had 4.10. I have a rear axle from a 2002 Sport Edition 2WD in my 1998 4WD Limited.
