Don't use the #74 bulb

I have a 2003 SR5 4Runner, in which the console shift position indicator failed too. After reading this article, I bought a #74 bulb, but it would not fit easily into the console socket. I could have jammed it in, but we try not to do that these days. The #74 bulb is just slightly larger than the original Toyota part. Also, It does not come in an amber and the amber cap on the old bulb was fused to that bulb and couldn't be removed to be reused.
So I called the Toyota dealer, ordered the parts, bulb and cap as noted in a previous post, and replaced it with ease.

Hi... I have a 2007 toyota 4runner Ltd... I got the light bulb out of the gear shift no easy task thats for sure.... I have to ask you about would I have a light in my cupholder? on a 2007. I have no idea .. I cannot get any info on youtube even for a video on the gear shift light... Horrible I could not get that Tee thing back in very difficult.. I was freaking out.. I am a female and could not believe I did that I cannot pay toyota's prices that is for sure... also half the light in the tempature under the radio is out .. Only half light up..... If you can help .... Thank You. I do not even know how to use this forum. do I hit quote message in reply... Well let me see if post quick Thank you

Gear Shift light 2007 toyota 4runner

Hi... I have a 2007 toyota 4runner Ltd... I got the light bulb out of the gear shift no easy task thats for sure.... I have to ask you about would I have a light in my cupholder? on a 2007. Just installed these bulbs in amber color tonight in the center console. They look great and match perfectly.

74 LED Bulb - 3 SMD LED Wide Angle Wedge Base | Miniature Wedge Base LEDs | LED Car Bulbs | Super Bright LEDs

Can someone give me an idea of how these superbrightled LEDs are installed?
Looking online I found a couple videos of folks installing new bulbs in the shifter assembly but the bulbs look very different than those in the link.
From what I could tell in one of the videos the OEM bulb was round shaped and the top of the bulb slid through a round opening in the assembly where it’s then twisted to lock in place. From that video, it’s hard to see how these aftermarket ones would fit.
